Een unieke kans om een stuk iconisch, Italiaans erfgoed te bemachtigen. De GT Junior is een telg uit de roemruchte 105-serie, ontworpen door designmeester Giorgetto Giugiaro, destijds werkzaam bij Bertone. Deze strak gelijnde sportcoupé bracht het karakter van de grotere Giulia Sprint GT en GTV binnen handbereik van een breder publiek, zónder in te leveren op rijplezier. Ingrediënten daarvoor waren een laag gewicht [1.026kg], achterwielaandrijving, een handgeschakelde vijfversnellingsbak en een levendige 1.6-liter viercilinder. Ten opzichte van de 1.3-liter is de aluminium Twin Cam-motor zeldzaam en geliefd onder verzamelaars. Dit exemplaar uit juni 1974 blinkt uit in originaliteit, inclusief bijbehorende patina, maar is bovenal technisch uitzonderlijk goed onderhouden de afgelopen jaren. Zo is er ruim 15 duizend euro geïnvesteerd in een bodem-renovatie met volledig nieuwe ophanging, achteras, differentieel, remmerij en uitlaat, gereviseerde Weber-carburateurs en veel andere, relevante modificaties.
Het is onmogelijk naar de carrosserie te kijken zonder in extase te raken. Kenmerkend voor het ontwerp zijn het rechthoekige front, de vlakke motorkap, bijna rechte daklijn en scherp ‘afgesneden’ achterzijde. De overhang voor is zeer kort, wat hem een extra krachtige en gedrongen uitstraling geeft. Deze GT is voorzien van een rode carrosserie-lak: tijdloos, puur en vol karakter, precies zoals Giugiaro het bedoeld heeft. Chromen bumpers en sierlijsten, de karakteristieke Alfa Romeo-grille met het schildvormige embleem en fraaie, nieuwe 15-inch Alfaholics GTA-velgen in het donkergrijs maken het plaatje compleet. Wie ‘m optisch helemaal smetteloos wil hebben moet er wat tijd en energie in steken, want met zijn 52 jaar ervaring zult u wel enkele bobbeltjes in het lakwerk ontdekken, maar de overall conditie is uitstekend. De afgelopen taxaties kreeg de Alfa een 9,2 als eind-oordeel, gelijkwaardig aan kwaliteitsklasse 2 ‘in zeer goede, originele conditie’. Waarvan akte!
Het interieur is uitgevoerd in klassiek zwart skai-leder, gecombineerd met een fraaie hout-kleurige dashboard afwerking. Achter het karakteristieke drie-spaaks Alfa Romeo-sportstuurwiel bevinden zich de twee grote, ronde hoofdinstrumenten, terwijl aanvullende meters centraal in het dashboard zijn ondergebracht. De verticaal gestikte stoelbekleding, chromen details en centrale versnellingspook creëeren het jaren ’70 gevoel optimaal. Een heerlijk authentiek interieur voor vier inzittenden, waarin de Italiaanse sportieve inborst van deze Bertone-coupé duidelijk naar voren komt en alles draait om de essentie van autorijden. Alles is nog origineel, functioneert naar behoren en voelt fris aan, zonder noemenswaardige slijtage. Dankzij nieuwe Koni schokdempers, Eibach verlagingsveren, schijfremmen rondom, elektrische ontsteking en onafhankelijke wielophanging zijn de rijeigenschappen goed uitgebalanceerd en relatief modern. Ook met weinig tot geen klassieker-ervaring kunt u hier gemakkelijk mee op pad.
Op historisch vlak is deze Alfa goed gedocumenteerd: na de nieuwlevering werd ‘ie op 20 juni 1981 geïmporteerd in Nederland. Nadien volgden slechts drie, particuliere eigenaren. Zij wisselen op 27 december 1989 en 2 november 2013. Laatstgenoemde heeft bij ons een Jaguar F-Type Coupé gekocht, zodoende bieden we deze auto graag in consignatie aan. Er werd uitstekend voor de auto gezorgd, middels verwarmde binnenstalling, premium brandstof [E98], preventief onderhoud en uitsluitend plezier-ritjes bij mooi weer. Naast alle historische kentekenbewijzen, keuringen, kentekenplaten, taxatie-rapporten en verzekeringsbewijzen zijn er eveneens veel onderhoudsfacturen aanwezig. In oktober 2023 heeft deze auto z’n laatste APK gehad: gezien z’n leeftijd is er geen keuringsplicht meer en hoeft er geen wegenbelasting te worden betaald. Naast een voordelige klassieker-verzekering tegen taxatie-waarde hoeft u over het aankoopbedrag geen Box 3-belasting te betalen en profiteert u -naar alle waarschijnlijkheid- van een stabiele of stijgende marktwaarde.
Ten slotte een verdieping op het uitgevoerde onderhoud. In 2025 is er -naast het reguliere onderhoud- € 4.250,- geïnvesteerd in een nieuwe handremkabel, remschijven en -blokken achter, nieuwe achteras inclusief differentieel, wiellagers, klepdekselpakking en gereviseerde Weber-carburateurs. In 2021 is er aanvullend € 8.455,- geïnvesteerd in een nieuwe waterpomp, contactslot, elektronische ontsteking, groot onderhoud met bougies en bobines, volledige kachel [kraan, radiateur, slangen en motor], remmerij voor inclusief klauwen, draagarmen, fusee- en stuurkogels, voorpijp uitlaat, accu, motorsteunen, dynamo, V-snaar en koelventilator. In 2017 treffen we een factuur van een sport einddemper, waterslangen, draagarmen en stabilisatorstangen. De Bridgestone-zomerbanden dateren uit 2018. A unique opportunity to acquire a piece of iconic Italian heritage. The GT Junior is a descendant of the legendary 105 series, designed by design master Giorgetto Giugiaro, who was working at Bertone at the time. This sleekly styled sports coupé brought the character of the larger Giulia Sprint GT and GTV within reach of a wider audience, without compromising on driving pleasure. The ingredients for this were a low weight [1,026 kg], rear-wheel drive, a five-speed manual gearbox, and a lively 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine. Compared to the 1.3-liter, the aluminum Twin Cam engine is rare and highly prized by collectors. This example from June 1974 excels in originality, including the accompanying patina, but above all, it has been exceptionally well maintained technically over the past few years. For instance, over 15,000 euros have been invested in an underbody renovation featuring completely new suspension, rear axle, differential, brakes, and exhaust, rebuilt Weber carburetors, and many other relevant modifications.
It is impossible to look at the bodywork without going into ecstasy. Characteristic of the design are the rectangular front, the flat bonnet, the almost straight roofline, and the sharply ‘cut-off’ rear end. The front overhang is very short, giving it an extra powerful and compact appearance. This GT features a red body paint finish: timeless, pure, and full of character, exactly as Giugiaro intended. Chrome bumpers and trim, the characteristic Alfa Romeo grille with the shield-shaped emblem, and beautiful new 15-inch Alfaholics GTA wheels in dark grey complete the picture. Anyone who wants it to be visually flawless will have to put some time and energy into it, because with its 52 years of experience, you will undoubtedly discover a few small bumps in the paintwork, but the overall condition is excellent. In recent valuations, the Alfa received a final rating of 9.2, equivalent to quality class 2 ‘in very good, original condition’. Duly noted!
The interior is finished in classic black faux leather, combined with a beautiful wood-colored dashboard trim. Behind the characteristic three-spoke Alfa Romeo sports steering wheel are the two large, round main instruments, while additional gauges are centrally located in the dashboard. The vertically stitched seat upholstery, chrome details, and central gear lever perfectly capture the 1970s feel. A wonderfully authentic interior for four occupants, in which the sporty Italian character of this Bertone coupe clearly comes to the fore and everything revolves around the essence of driving. Everything is still original, functions properly, and feels fresh, without significant wear. Thanks to new Koni shock absorbers, Eibach lowering springs, disc brakes all around, electronic ignition, and independent suspension, the driving characteristics are well-balanced and relatively modern. Even with little to no classic car experience, you can easily take this out for a drive.
Historically, this Alfa is well-documented: after delivery, it was imported into the Netherlands on June 20, 1981. Subsequently, only three private owners followed. They exchanged on December 27, 1989, and November 2, 2013. The latter purchased a Jaguar F-Type Coupé from us, which is why we are pleased to offer this car on consignment. The car was excellently cared for, through heated indoor storage, premium fuel [E98], preventative maintenance, and exclusively pleasure drives in good weather. In addition to all historical registration certificates, inspections, license plates, valuation reports, and insurance certificates, many maintenance invoices are also available. This car had its last MOT in October 2023: given its age, there is no longer a mandatory inspection requirement and no road tax needs to be paid in Holland. In addition to affordable classic car insurance based on the appraised value, you do not have to pay Box 3 tax on the purchase amount and you will—in all likelihood—benefit from a stable or rising market value.
Finally, a deeper look at the maintenance performed. In 2025, in addition to regular maintenance, €4,250 was invested in a new handbrake cable, rear brake discs and pads, a new rear axle including differential, wheel bearings, valve cover gasket, and reconditioned Weber carburetors. In 2021, an additional €8,455 was invested in a new water pump, ignition switch, electronic ignition, major maintenance including spark plugs and coils, complete heater [valve, radiator, hoses, and motor], front brakes including calipers, wishbones, ball joints, steering knuckles, exhaust front pipe, battery, engine mounts, alternator, V-belt, and cooling fan. In 2017, we find an invoice for a sports rear silencer, water hoses, wishbones, and stabilizer bars. The Bridgestone summer tires date from 2018. Photos of the underside will be added later.
